Welcome to the Walsh Consulting Engineers Men’s Sunshine Coast Open Amateur Championship 2019. Please find below some detailed Player Information in preparation for the weekend.

PLAYER INFORMATION

Starting RoundRule 5.3a will be strictly enforced. A player must start at (and not before or after) your starting time

Pace of PlayRule 5.6a will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain it’s position on the course. The first group to start will be considered “out of position” if, at any time during the round, the group’s cumulative time exceeds the time allowed for the number of holes played. Any following group will be considered out of position if it is more than the starting interval behind the group in front of them, and has exceeded the time allowed for the number of holes played. Penalties will be enforced for any breach of this Local Rule. Time allowed for each hole can be found in the Pace of Play Local Rule. A copy will be provided by starters on each tee prior to commencement of each round

Scorecards – Must be duly signed by marker and player and lodged with the official scorer in the scoring area in the Clubhouse within fifteen minutes of the completion of the round

Local Rules – See back of scorecard for Local Rules. Specified Local Rules will be displayed on Local Rules Board outside Proshop

Pin Positions – Sprinkler heads are marked to the middle of the green. Posts with 2 rings indicate 150m to middle of the green. Posts with 1 ring indicate 100m to the middle of the green. Pin Placement Information will be provided by starters on each tee prior to commencement of each round

Nearest the Pins – Offered both days on holes 5, 8, 14 and 18  (no additional charge)

Pro Pins – Offered both days on holes 6 & 12. Players must pay an additional Entry Fee of $1 upon check in with the Proshop

Motorised Carts – Carts may be used in all events. Payment of Fees are payable upon check in with the Proshop ($32 – Members, $38 – Visitors per round)

Final Round SeedingTop 8 Championship Qualifier Tee Times on Sunday will be the final two tee-times of the day (1st Tee; 12:38pm & 12:47pm). If a qualifier chooses to play outside of the allocated tee-time, they will be ineligible to win any Gross prize

Grades – 36 Hole Gross and Nett events in grades will be held in conjunction. Grades may be altered by Championship Committee at any stage prior to the event according to the number of entries received. Daily Handicap at time of the first round will determine the Grade in which you will compete. The grades for these events are in Daily Handicap:

  • A Grade 0 – 4
  • B Grade 5 – 10
  • C Grade 11 – 18

Catering – All players in the AM field can collect one Breakfast Roll between 5:30am – 8am prior to play near the Proshop. All players in the PM field can collect one Lunch Roll between 10am – 12:30pm prior to play near the Proshop. The Halfway House (located between the 9th green and 10th tee) is open for the sale of Food and Drinks during “crossover” periods. The Drinks Cart will be on the course for most of the day (beginning at 9am)
