Ben Duncombe (76.67.72 – 215) has edged ahead in the battle for the 2023 Men’s Club Championship.

Duncombe shot 3-over 72 today, to sit on a total of 215 ahead of tomorrow’s final round.  Adam Rydwanski (73.74.70 – 217) and Justin Nicholson (73.72.72 – 217) are tied in second place.

Gary Clarke leads B Grade after three very consistent rounds – 81.81.82 – 244, but has just the most narrow of margins over Ian Farrington (81.81.83 – 245), with Dennis Orr a further 3 strokes back.

In C Grade, it is again a case of consistency paying dividends, as Ross Itzstein (88.88.90 – 266) has snuck in front of the first round leader Mick Prince (85.91.91 – 267).  Bruce Heseltine is a further stroke back.

BUNKER RENOVATION PROJECT

In April 2023, the Club commenced construction on a $1M+ Bunker Renovation Project. The project has gone exceptionally well, and the feedback has been very positive. Unfortunately, significant rainfall through the Jan-May period has delayed the final stage of this project. Presently, the only holes not complete – and their current status, are as follows:
      •
        • • 9th hole – Bunker works complete. The left two-thirds of this green have been raised quite considerably, and the hole remains out of play until the grass coverage on the new section of the green is up to putting standard. The 9th hole should re-open sometime in June.

          • • 17th hole – New green complex growing in. Bunkers are yet to be concreted due to the wetness of this area. Tee is to be re-built, and some fill is being transported to the site, raising the first third of the area from tee to green. An opening time is not yet forecast for the 17th hole.

          • Hole 1B remains in play until the 9th is back, while the 10th will be split and played as a par 4 (10A) and a par 3 (10B) until 17th is complete.
The other 16 holes are complete, and all bunkers on these holes are in play.
