Title Number 20 for Josie Ryan

Headland Life Member Josie Ryan stormed home today to take out her 20th Women’s Club Championship.

Josie shot a final round of 79 – highlighted by 7 pars and just two bogeys on the last nine, to pip third-round leader Lisa Ramen by one stroke. Josie’s vast experience came to the fore, as she made steady pars on the last five holes. Her tournament rounds got better and better as the event went – with four round scores of 87.84.83.79 for a total of 332. Lisa shot 87.82.83.82 – 333.

The B Grade Championship was won by Robyn Boreham with scores of 27.24.25.24 – 380, while Ree Condon took out C Grade with scores of 115.105.104.112 – 436.

In April 2023, the Club commenced construction on a $1M+ Bunker Renovation Project. The project has gone exceptionally well, and the feedback has been very positive.

From mid-December, the interruption to normal play will be very minimal. The 1st Hole should re-open for play sometime late-December – early January, with Hole 1B in play until then. Holes 2-9 will be “as normal”. Only the 17^th hole will be out of play on the back nine. A new green and bunker system will be constructed in January, keeping this hole out of play until some time in April. To offset this, the 10^th hole will be played as a par 4 (10A) and a par 3 (10B).

By early January, we expect to have 16 holes completed with all new bunker designs and state-of-the-art drainage.
